The Second Way I Answer, “How do You Stay True to Yourself?

Hey, remember, masterpieces aren’t made in a hurry, and they aren’t created with one big paint brush. It takes work.

In Belgium, I wake up just like you. I (involuntarily) breathe just like you. I brush my teeth. You feed your cats. I feed my dog. You hug your kids. Or you rush to work in a brain fog. I sometimes have lonely days where I sink into my bed at night and turn on Sam Harris’s meditation lessons. I miss my loved ones, just like you might. There is one thing I try not to do — compare my life to yours.

I am free to move, try, live, and start new things because I have built a life of value through financial freedom, investing in passive income, and working my balls off for 20 years. Everything I did was for the chance to live aligned with the values I hold closest to my heart.

The work in staying true to yourself starts now — when you feel scared, alone, poor, unintelligent, or possibly broken. Remember, you get to make your destiny. Most people don’t make their destiny their choice — they let life choose for them.

Whenever I feel like life is overpowering me, I breathe deep and listen. I shut my eyes and feel. What will I do next? Where will I go? What do I need to today to ensure that today is my masterpiece.

You think, I think, we all think (about 60,000–80,000 thoughts) during the day, but what do we do about it?

What you do for the next thirty minutes will determine how you stay true to yourself.

Let me explain.

Have you ever heard the concept, “Win the morning, win the day?”

I’m convinced mornings are for us to build, create, learn, and reflect on our lives. The rising sun signals another chance. Another shot. Another moment. Another breath.

The next 30 minutes will determine how much closer you get to your best self.

Write down the top 10 masterpiece…
